May 13, 2023 · Like when I read your wizard with "Wizard Necromancer Insta-kill/CC caster build" with 115+ necro DC (which is very low for a wizard), I can't know if it would suck for a full completionist toon because the build is badly designed or if it sucks because it's used by a first life player.

It is a full spell-casting class, based on the Alchemist Savant prestige class from the Magic of Eberron PnP sourcebook DDO Forums . The Alchemist casts spells in a different manner from other classes and has a unique spellbook with 90+ spells. Inquisitive Build for HCL. I'm toying with the idea of trying hardcore this time around. Safe ranged DPS seems promising, and I like inquisitive gameplay. I'm open to suggestion on leveling splits. I'm committed to at least 2 levels of artificer for runearms and my sacrificial iron defender, but there are so many possibilities.Edit: Another reason why, is that it's just "easier" to aquire casting gear than it is melee as a Wizard. Hence, if you're new to playing one, gearing for spell casting provides for a quicker return on investment. Alternative idea: Take 2 levels of Artificer and 18 Wizard. For the 1st 6 - 10 lvls, you can use the repeater for great effect.Spell Mastery: Choose three 1st-level spells to always have prepared: Feather Fall, Magic Missile, Shield. 2nd-level Spells: Mirror Image, Misty Step. Wizard 4: Ability Score Improvement: +2 Charisma (Total Charisma: 18) 2nd-level Spells: Web, Scorching Ray. Wizard 5: 3rd-level Spells: Fireball, Counterspell.

DDO doesn't have anything like the Mystic Theurge prestige class. So wizard 10 / Alchemist 10 would be subpar compared to a pure build based on either.
