From what I had and others I have handled the GI configured Tasas are a real good inexpensive base. Not so sure the beavertailed Tisas are “there” yet in ergonomics. The modern production 1911 - high visibility sights, beavertail grip safety, aluminum trigger, good trigger pull, enhanced slide/ frame fit, accurized barrel/bushing fit.The best that I've found so far, are Chip McCormick Shooting Star mags. I use them for the range as I don't use my PT1911 for defense. So I can't really speak for hollowpoints and the like. Round nose or very blunt profile, cycles perfectly. $20.00 a piece.
