On my Gen4, I've had two mag catches and springs replaced due to excessive wear of the catch and the notches in the mags. Mags would fall out upon firing the gun.

The difference in the grip size between the SF and the Gen 4 (without any back straps installed)is insignificant (read as virtually the same), the only real difference is the grip texture. The standard Glock 30 has a grip that is larger, front to back. The best defense is a good offense, and I'm really offensive.

If you are looking to carry it, the 30S is better. Thinner and Lighter is always better in a carry gun. If you aren't going to carry and are just going to use it for range or home use, the 30 with it's heavier slide is nicer to shoot.
