Yea installing GSHade is basically just downloading the zip and running the script file. So your instructions will work just the same. I believe Steam Deck uses Arch Linux, and Windows games run via the Proton compatibility layer. And you can select a specific one to use if Steam’s default has issues.

Don't install into ffxiv.exe, as that's the DirectX 9 version of the game. Note that you want the build with full add-on support, as that's the one that works in FFXIV.
