Actually, you can't quite use proportions to compare SAT and ACT scores. There are released official concordance tables you need to use. 1530-1560 is equivalent to 35, but when a single score point comparison is needed between the two, you use 1540 instead. Wow that's something I've never seen before.
Search up the 50th percentile SAT for the schools you're applying to, and see how you compare there. If you're considerably lower than the average for your schools, it'd likely be good to retake.
