What slither.io did absolutely right was to make the game equal for all: The tiniest snake can kill number one on the leaderboard, and gameplay is not fucked because of people teaming up (Just look at what Agar.io became). This is mainly because it is near impossible to coordinate any team effort with the pace of the game and mobility of snakes.
Hackers Killed Slither.IO. This game is dead because it's been fully taken over by hackers on every server. Developers allow hackers to thrive, killing the game. GAME OVER. I think you have to be more specific than that. I would argue that some modders have actually rather kept the game alive.
