Edit: Third day of these bombing raids, they seem to pull mass numbers of zombies to an area then a helicopter appears and kites them around it seems. Ran around the area for a whole in game day and found nothing but fields of zombies chasing this helicopter around. Starting to wonder how many days in a row this will happen for.

The game didn't say anything about the helicopter, but it does imply it is a news helicopter. On the Automated Emergency Broadcast, the helicopter is referred to as "air activity", meaning it is probably not military or government. Before the helicopter appears, the news showed footage of a zombie in West Point taken from a helicopter.
