Several weeks. I was also 2 CM, 60% effaced at 38 weeks. I had to be induced at 40 wks + 3. A few hours, I guess. I was 1 cm when I was admitted in labor, then I had to walk the halls for a few hours to see if there was progress and I was 2 cm when they next checked, so they kept me. After a few more hours they checked again and I was 4 cm.
