Center pontoon log.
I've ordered a new L series and the optional center storage which is about 1k to put the hole in my boat. I don't understand the logic in placing slots in the cover. I have owned a Sea Ray with center storage in that V-hull, which is equipped with a hatch that fits into a grooved recess. This had a drain hole which went to the bilge.

The manufacturer (Tahoe) just sent me a new data plate for the boat with a third toon. They're also extended forward of the two side logs. Don't expect alot of speed from toons. Top speed with a 454 inboard on a custom toon I saw was only 63 mph. Like.

The reason is because of the massive turbulence created by the center wake of your outside tubes. It would be seriously blasting the nose cone of the center tube and killing your efficiency.If needed you could add a jack plate to the motor pod to lower the motor, or try moving the third toon in front of the other two slightly. I think that the safest bet would be to cut it to about 18 foot or 18'2" and no shorter than 17'6" based on other factory set ups I have seen.
Re: 3rd log with transom. Just thougt of a possible problem, when you cut the end of the tube out you will lose the back baffle and will have to come up with a round plate to weld into the front of the new motor well. You could probably order a new baffle from Lowes for probably $20-30 and it would for sure fit.
