Honestly I had a great experience at Walgreens, but it's really because my coworkers, pharmacist and rxom are so amazing. I won't lie, the work itself is hell sometimes, and the benefits are okay (it's the first job I've had with benefits though so I don't have a reference). But I think it's a great way to get your certification!It really depends. If you're in school, then no. RXOM is designed to give technicians hope in having a long and lasting career at Walgreens. After finding the job opening, I looked more into the Walgreens corporation and found several things tempting about the work environment. First of all, Walgreens has stated that what makes them a tough competitor in the retail market is its integrity. Best thing is to be courteous to your team but also firm to make sure things get done. You'll find out that a lot of them probably don't care to get things done or properly.
RXOM here too. I definitely do more of the technician job than the RXOM job. I do rotate with my technicians. I answer phone calls, give vaccines, fill, type almost all prescriptions since most of my technicians don’t or slow to type, and do some other technician jobs. No time to do managerial jobs.To be in workflow and do RXOM duties will be challenging. Take the time when you can to check email and COMPASS daily.
