Here is a member from here who converted his dually to single wheel rear. I don't remember his name. He removed his front dually wheel spacers and added 3.5" spacers to the rear. His wheels are 18x10 with 4.5" backspacing and the tires are 33x15.5's and he has a 6" if I recall.

The '99-'03 SuperDuty pickups with dual rear wheels (DRW) and a 5.4L gasoline engine had the Ford 10.5" rear axle, similar to the SRW axle but with DRW hubs and higher weight capacity. So Ford sold the dually hubs for the 10.5" rear axle back then.

04-25-2010, 10:02 PM. To me it depends on where you are at. There are certain types of soils that a dually is better than singles. In most places I feel that single rear wheels are the way to go. We had one brush truck that was a dually and it was like a pig on skates, it spent alot of time being pulled out of the mud.

Even if you do tow with the single rear wheel, you won't give up that much to the dually. The dually will be a tad bit... The dually will be a tad bit more stable, but the 350 single rear wheel will be enough for what you need it for I'm sure.
