To replace the thermostat you have to remove the alternator as its above the thermostat. You have to disconnect the battery which you may or may not have done for the timing belt. That might why they said 2 hours maintenance. I just bought an OEM thermostat/housing in a Ford box, for $40.

The high voltage battery is cooled by separate ac lines going to the battery. The battery does however have a special heating circuit which extracts heat from an air to liquid exchanger located on the exhaust which transfers the heat through the battery during colder months or at a set air temp from the pcm.In terms of diagnostics for a no-start, you would want to start by verifying the engine is fine mechanically. This means the timing is correct and the engine is developing compression. Next you would want to look at spark and fuel. Mode 6 diagnostics would show actual miss fire on each cylinder. My guess would be the start of a bad coil or plug. 2013 Escape Titanium with every option AWD 2.0.

The battery connection is tight. Im not totally sure what's on the front of battery holder ( case) but i can see that the positive cable is connected at the top of a plate. What else is in there, to cause the car not to start now. Depends on what the cause of the failure is. Jumping twice in 2 days is a bad battery, not being able to jump it may indicate a blown fuse (these are on the front of the battery compartment) or a bad battery cable.
