Started apoc on Riverside (new world) and found 3 Generator manuals on day 5 but no saw. If you want to start with the ability to use generators always, pick "Electrician" occupation. If you also pick lucky trait you are basically guaranteed to get the book in starting town somewhere. Always use lucky trait. Personally I enjoy West Point the most, and I consider Muldraugh to be more difficult. In West Point I can easily pull away hordes and lose them, and going to the housing areas is usually manageable zombie-wise. Whereas Muldraugh feels zombie swarmed all the time, generally making you leave the town for houses/farms out in the woods. And places relatively quiet without being too far away from essential resources. Keep in mind that the towns are infested with zombies but are where you have the most essential loot.
