It is mathematically much harder to build Tricaru for early players if they try to slam Det runes (especially more than 1 set per dog). Guard runes are by far the easiest method to get the stats. There is an argument for using 1 Det set per dog as slot1 doesn’t have any real reqs, so you only need 1 more per dog.Not much difference, but determination is a pain int he butt to get. tricaru with all determination would be +48% def for each tricaru, but if you have all guard, its +45% def for each. 8% per set x 9 sets is 72%, not 45%. You by no means need to go full determination sets, but adding even 1-3 can notably lower the overall rune quality requirement.Tricaru is an important monster, but wasting your crystals on a rune that will probably not roll how you want it to is not a solid strategy. Just farm DB12 for now and get a ton of Guard runes. Mine has +2k atk, 100 crit chance and 200 crit damage iirc, +50ish speed, +6k hp, vamp broken ... Violent runes are annoying, but this game is riddled with rng. Accept it, or quit. I dont think making 6 set runes would be good for the game either, cause it'll make a blatant break of flow in rune set size and make it harder to grind for slot runes. Also, you should never ever buy the 30 crystal refill. It's far less efficient than the 60 crystal refill. You'll burn through crystals much faster by using the 30 crystal refill, especially with running a fast-clearing team like tricaru. The 60 crystal refill is so good that it severely de-valued Daily Pack 1.

The way I see it, you may get more determination runes just by farming rifts to get tricaru running sooner, but at the same time as farming guard runes, you're also farming violent runes, shield runes, and focus runes. My Tricaru does like 40 second runs and I could spend the time farming fight runes to improve that for sure, however if I just spam DB12 at that 40 second run pace I run out of crystals. Most of the time while I'm farming I look away and end up wasting time after a full run etc.
