I'm guessing later type Harley's are different to the earlier type. With the gearbox in neutral the plunger in the screw type switch I have is pressed in & the N.O. contacts close, putting the neutral light 'ON'. However, the cam in the gearbox operates the plunger when it's in neutral so extinguishes the neutral light.
