Legion 5 is great hardware wise but Lenovo has been known to have issues with their hinges. My Y50-70 had the hinge snap after a few weeks and they denied warranty. I had to buy accidental insurance for them to take it. Literally sat on my desk and lid gets closed after use and opened the next day. Never again.

There is a nut inside the middle of the hinge. You need to remove the hinge assembly and remove the cables, in the little cavity where the cables nest inside the hinge, there's a screw to remove the metal hinge cover thing. The hinge, because of manufacturing problems or bad QA, separates or loosens itself from the frame and starts pressing and leveraging against the panel when the lid is being opened.
