If it has signal from the key every time then the problem is the starter. Replaced both batteries on my 2016 HD 2500. Install seemed to go well considering the designed to be a PITA design. After both new batteries were connected, everything seemed fine but the truck wouldn't start -click only. Rechecked all the connections - same thing. P0340 is Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit. It will not set the same code for camshaft sensor error, that has its own set of codes for crankshaft errors. Basically it is not seeing a signal from the camshaft because its not seeing the completed circuit. Sensor or wiring issue most likely.Measure both batteries and check all connections first.
