The only place a serial number is required is on the frame of the gun. It will always be there. Some manufacturers also put the serial number on the barrel and/or slide. These are not required and these numbers are not the legal serial number. The ONLY serial number that is legal to use is the one on the frame.

The best suggestion I can offer is to contact Taurus. If you still have the box, the date is on it. DeltaBravoKS and JTofSD.

Interesting thing is that the frame is date stamped November 2016 while a search of the serial number on Taurus' web site gives a manufacture date of 2017. This leads me to believe the date stamp in the frame only shows the month and year the poly frame was molded and not useful for the actual manufacture date of the pistol.

The earlier S/N was a no show the next serial number was a hit - go figure.
